A Great Turnout for CT GOP
Tuesday’s primary was both a victory for Sen. John McCain but a resounding example of the strength of the Connecticut Republican Party.
Over 40 percent of our party’s faithful went to the polls and no matter who we supported, the debate was civil and about the future of this country.
The nominee of our party can be Commander-in-Chief of Day One.
The nominee of the Republican Party understands the answers to America’s challenges lies in the resolve and the ingenuity of its people - not in the government.
The nominee of our party believes that the strength of our economy depends on lower taxes, free and fair trade, a smaller government and the need to cut wasteful government spending.
And on the critical issue of global terrorism, Sen. McCain, Gov. Romney or Gov. Huckabee understand the threats to our nation’s security and safety. They are not going to raise the white flag, cut and run and hope the issue of the Islamic extremism will go away.
Republicans also understand the need to come together behind our nominee to take the battle of ideas to Sen. Clinton or Sen. Obama.
Sen. Clinton’s experience is one of larger government bureaucracies and taxes and Sen. Obama sees a nation of victims and grievances, rather one of promise and hope.
The 2008 Election offers a stark contrast to the voters and one that Republicans can win.
