The Price of Being First
Our Democratic friends in Florida are showing how you have to have it both ways. Today, U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-FL, openly stated the Sunshine State would be lost this November if their delegates are not seating at the national convention in Denver this summer or another primary isn’t held to pick a winner. Sen. Clinton won the primary and even showed up for a victory celebration when the results were in.
Similar calls have come from Michigan, where Sen. Clinton was the only person on the ballot and whose economy is in a shambles. Michigan would be seen as fertile territory for a Democrat that promises to solve of the structural problems the state faces.
Sen. Clinton needs these two states, their delegates and the popular vote to leverage the remaining Super Delegates to come her way and beat Sen. Obama.
You reap what you sow in politics and the harvest will be soon eaten by locusts.

There’s <a href=”http://www.openleft.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=4374″?new SUSA polling out now, showing that Clinton wins Florida but not Michigan against McCain, and that Obama wins Michigan but not Florida.
I’m a little uncomfortable with a re-vote, but it’s hella better than seating the rule-breaking delegations based on the January elections.
