Delegates Roll Up Sleeves for Gustav
Several members of the Connecticut Delegation Tuesday gave blood at a drive sponsored by the Michigan Republican Party at its delegation hotel in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The blood drive is one of many activities being conducted by Republicans to offer assistance to displaced Americans from Hurricane Gustav.
“We are grateful that the damage, while serious, is not as bad as had been predicted,” said State Party Chairman Chris Healy. “But many families are still seriously at risk and have needs. We hope to continue public awareness to help our fellow citizens.”
Donors included Healy, his mother, Lila Healy, Joe Romano of Greenwich and Mary Ann Turner, Enfield’s Republican Town Chairman.
Tomorrow, about 30 members of the Connecticut delegation will be preparing care packages for displaced families at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
