Connecticut GOP Chairman Chris Healy will be broadcasting live via Twitter as the state Legisalture conveneswith an address by Republican Governor M. Jodi Rell at noon.

Healy will be sending updates or “tweets” on today’s activities at the State Capitol. The Legislature faces an immediate budget shortfall of $370 million for this fiscal year and approximately $6 billion for the next two-year budget. Rell has been cutting existing spending on the current budget and has warned against any tax increases.  She is expected to speak in general terms today about the needs for serious action on the budget.

Democrats have been offfering little specifics and did not heed her request to meet last week to finish addressing cuts in this year’s budget shortfall.
