Rebimbas Looking Strong in 70th
A rare Monday special election will determine who’ll represent the 70th Legislative District in Hartford. The match-up features Republican candidate Rosa Rebimbasagainst the Democrat Kevin McSherry. The seat was held by popular Naugatuck Republican Kevin DelGobbo until he was appointed by Gov. M. Jodi Rell to be the commissioner of the Department of Public Utility Control (DPUC) back in January.
Rebimbas, 33, is an attorney and a member of the Naugatuck Finance Board. She is the President of Greater Waterbury Habitat for Humanity and a member of the Portugese Club. She has been endorsed by Governor Rell as well as State Rep. David Labriola, who represents the western half of Naugatuck.
She and her husband have been knocking on doors almost non-stop for weeks, visiting thousands of homes saying hello to numerous old friends and neighbors.
Her opponent is Kevin McSherry, whose brother Mike is a popular Republican communications specialist in Washington, D.C.
