Dodd Outs Himself

45682149-20034726Today, we learned that Sen. Chris Dodd has changed his mind about gay marriage, and it didn’t take much to convince him.

Why?, because Chris Dodd needs every friend he can find these days and the gay community has money, connections and political power to get more campaign funds for the ailing 34-year incumbent.

When he was tramping through the snows of Iowa and New Hampshire, Chris Dodd was a traditional family values kind of  guy. Now, with his approval ratings slipping and the need for campaign cash great, Sen. Dodd has seen the light.

“I was raised to believe that marriage is between a man and a woman,” Dodd wrote in an opinion piece published Sunday in the Meriden Record-Journal. “And as many other Americans have realized as they’ve struggled to reconcile the principle of fairness with the lessons they learned early in life, that’s not an easy thing to overcome.”

It’s too bad Sen. Dodd can change his mind about other positions, including his belief  that the government should be running our entire health care system, that there is no need to detain terrorists and the credit crisis is the fault of the credit card companies.

Sen. Dodd is tacking to every possible change in the weather to get the wind behind and remain afloat. This will put him in solid with his Hollywood connections who will ride to the rescue of their great protector.
