Let the Smugness Begin
It is comforting to watch and hear from the liberal elites dismiss the growing Tea Party movement as some out-of-control Klan rally, pocketed with paranoid back-woods knuckle-dragger’s. This weekend over a million everyday Americans, including many from Connecticut, came to Washington, D.C. on their own dimes, the mainstream media continues to pull the shades and smirk. The million mark came from credible third party sources, including liberal European newspapers who are more in love with Barack Obama than their American cousins.
There were no buses paid for by big unions or George Soros to haul people to the Capitol to wave per-printed signs. There were no orchestrated responses from pre-selected orators or fawning media coverage.
Those who gathered at the Washington Mall and near the Capitol were people fed up with the largest takeover of our economy since the New Deal, or may ever.
Columnists like Frank Rich and Gail Collins of the New York Times call these protests part of a lost summer and blame President Obama for letting them get the best of him.
Jay Howser, U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd’s campaign manager, said the Tea Party crowd was a dangerous side show:
“The great thing about the far right wing, extreme group of tea bagger’s- who have entertained us throughout the summer is that their idea of free speech is akin to shouting down opposition, drowning out debate, and in Connecticut, encouraging Sen. Dodd to commit suicide with painkillers and alcohol,” er said Jay Howser.
The Huffington Post did their thing on cue, sending out a photographer to grab the silly signs and imply they spoke for the entire grassroots organization. And with each passing night, the liberal apologist of the ariwaves get more hysterical about U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson on South Carolina. Right now, Rep. Wilson may set the Internet record for fundraising – both pro and con.
Meanwhile, there is no evidence to suggest that the Tea Party revolt is waning. Rather, it seems to be getting stronger at both the macro and micro levels. More and more groups are organizing in Connecticut on-line through Facebook and other social networks.
In Connecticut , Tea Party activists are making regular public appearances in Democratic towns and cities, like Meriden and Stamford, to simply protest the Obama health plan and the Democrat’s recent state budget.
The Democrat’s strategy is to marginalize, to pick a few “Black Helicopter” wing nuts out of the crowd with their crude and inappropriate signs and say “see, they are crazy, don’t bother your time with them. They are not Americans.”
The signs and costumes seen at Tea Party rallies, including Sunday’s in D.C. are tame compared to some of the liberal protests that have been conducted over the years, particularly against President Bush and Vice President Cheney or any other Republican leader. Both Bush and Cheney were routinely compared to Adolf Hitler, who is the gold standard of diss. No one from the New York Times editorial board ever cpplains about that street theater nor when House Democrats vehimately booed President George W. Bush during his 1995 State of the Union address when he spoke about fixing Social Security.
The more the liberals throw their hands up and say “what are we going to do with these people?” the more the people get stronger and eager for a real change.

On a cold and rainy September day in Connecticut, the Tea Party Express Bus rolls into Hartford. They are greeted by about Two-Thousand American Citizens. I was told by many Connecticut Tea Party groups, that most of their members were already headed down to D.C. for the National Tea Party Rally. All the same “Connecticut Citizens“, including myself braved the Ice Cold Rain. The Astro-Turfer’s came alive on this day. The theme was dedicated mainly to September 11, attack on America by Islamic Extremists. Most of the Connecticut Media didn’t cover the event; as usual real journalism was left to Ameriborn Constitution News Company and William Landers reporting.
Read full post and watch the video of the entire event: http://ameriborn.com/news/252/
I spoke at the Hartford Tea Party Express on the national program and later talked with many of the people who attended. These were Connecticut residents tired of Washington’s tax and spend policies, debt creation that will take generations to pay off, and the threat of a loss of their freedom.
As a conservative Republican candidate running for the 2nd Congressional District seat I get a lot of calls from voters every day asking me what they can do to stop the madness in Washington. The tea parties are catching on like wildfire in CT and elsewhere because Americans all over are frustrated with the lack of representation and truly qualified, principled candidates. People want to have a real voice.
When I go to work in Washington I will be “serving the people” of the 2nd District. Eastern Ct will be heard unlike Cong. Joe Courtney, who stated in Congress that Washington is the ruler of the people, I believe power is meant to be in the hands of the citizens and it should stay that way.
“Joe Gotta Go!” He just doesn’t get it. We the people rule this country and the Constitution is our contract with the government to keep us safe from a tyrannical government.
The march on Washington was the largest in American history. People demonstrated for the “right” kind of change. We are organizing, we are strong, and we are not going away. I hope you’ll join my campaign at http://www.novakforcongress.com and experience participatory democracy firsthand.
