20 Years Ago – Words That Worked
President Barack Obama talks a good game, but Ronald Reagan’s words changed the game and drove Communism into the ash heap of history. Twenty years ago today, a little over 16 months after Ronald Regan stood at the Bradenberg Gate and called upon the Russians remove the symbol of oppression, the East German authorities said the wall had no meaning. Maybe it’s time to remember how far we have come and what Reagan did to end it.
Rather than talk, Reagan negotiated from strength and won the Cold War without firing a shot.
The documentary below shows what life was like for a good deal of the globe before Reagan came along. It also shows that being soft and nice when dealing with this nation’s enemies almost never works. President Obama is finding that out now with Iran and Russia.
