DeLauro’s Rant Exposes Health Care Sham

HC ROSA DeLAURO.jpgCongresswoman Rosa DeLauro, D-CT,  is a front-line supporter of the government takeover of this nation’s health care system and spares no one from her lash who stands in the way.

DeLauro’s irrational conduct was just part of the Obama administrations confusion convention this week over breast cancer screening which has called into question the ability of government to set health care guidelines.

DeLauro’s statement against Republican opposition to a report which provided new guidelines for breast cancer screening and prevention.

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, which did not have one oncologist on its group, issue a guidline which said that women over 40 did not have to go for breast exams and those over 50 could cut back to an exam every other year. The panel is subsidized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

“If we can cut through the Republicans’ political gamesmanship on this issue, the new breast cancer recommendations, as always, were an attempt to put the best possible evidence in the hands of women and their doctors, so they can assess their own risk and benefit,”DeLauro said.

Within a day, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius contradicted those findings by saying they didn’t  reflect government-think.Problem is, under the health care reform plans now being discussed and supported by Rep. DeLauro, the U.S. Preventive Task Force findings would be used as baselines for any health care plan and eligible coverage.

Sebelius said, not to worry about those new findings on breast screening, because the panel was only putting forward new information and does not set policy or determine what services the government covers. She also said she would be very surprised if any private insurance companies changed their mammography policies because of the recommendations.

That’s comforting.

Dr. Bernadine Healy, former President of the American Red Cross  and the National Institute of Health, thinks the new guidelines are a “shocking thing.”

The worst part of this bungling is the confusion it has created for millions of women across the country.  And once one government agency puts out its findings, only to be reputiated within 24 hours by the very administrtiona that oversees it, one can wonder is anyone doing their job at HHS?

But we know Rosa DeLauro is doing her job – being part of a corrupt, out-of-touch political aristocracy that thinks it knows best and will make us pay more to prove their flawed logic is the truth.

As the number three person in the Nancy Pelosi leadership team, along with wing man John Larson, D-CT, Connecticut has two of four major players in the $1  trillion health care theft – a plan that will imperil our ability to choose treatment while driving our debt so far into eternity that the Hubble Telescope won’t find it.

  1. DeLauro went berserk on her ally George Miller over the Stupak Amendment, showing how frenzied and maniacal she can be when her special interests are at stake. DeLauro is not only an embarrassment for Third District and connecticut, she’s also an extremely dangerous Democrat party hack. I hope CT-GOP gives its fullest support to BOAZ ITSHAKY as he enters his second year of campaigning for better representation in our district. He’s been tireless in hammering away at DeLauro’s awful legislation, and the Democrats’ bankrupt policies. We need to oust DeLauro and get ItsHaky into Congress!
