Danbury State Senator David Cappiello, already aggressively running for Connecticut’s 5th Congressional District seat, announced a slate of Republican elected officials who will form the basis of his effort.  His campaign to unseat one-term Congressman Chris Murphy started strong back in July when he announced his strong fundraising numbers, followed by his 41 town tour in 41 days.

Today he announced his leadership team will be chaired by State Representative Bill Hamzy (78th LD).  State Representative Mary Ann Carson (108th LD), Mayor Mark Boughton of Dabury, Mayor Ryan Bingham of Torrington, and New Britain Mayor Tim Stewart will all be co-chairs of the campaign.

“Washington is broken, and it needs fresh, energetic leaders to tackle the many big issues facing Connecticut and America,” said Mayor Bingham. “David Cappiello is that leader. He has a proven record as a bi-partisan, common-sense problem solver who isn¹t afraid to speak his mind and do what¹s right for his constituents. We desperately need him in Congress.”
