Tomorrow, The Everyday Republican will be featuring our coverage of Super Tuesday in America - a day when Republicans in 21 states, including Connecticut, will go to the polls and choose who will be the Republican nominee for President.  Chairman Healy was on MSNBC earlier today and will do more media stops tomorrow, appearing on Colin McEnroe at 3:30pm, among others.

Here at TER, we’ll be bringing you play-by-play coverage throughout the day, particularly tomorrow night, as we will not only be posting the returns from each Connecticut town as they come in, we’ll also be monitoring the nationwide results via our new interactive map, which you can sneak a peek at here.  Be sure to check back  at The Everyday Republican for all of the “insider” coverage of Super Tuesday.

Governator to Endorse McCain

January 30, 2008 By: Heath Category: TER Info, Who Will Be 44th? No Comments →

Things are moving more quickly for Senator John McCain now, coming off of his strong win in Florida.  Earlier today, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani withdrew from the race and threw his support to the Arizonan.  Tonight the word is that the Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, will announce his endorsement of McCain tomorrow. Despite some lingering resentment in the conservative base, Republicans seem poised to go to the polls next Tuesday and effectively nominate Senator McCain.

In related news, we’ve got an exciting Super Tuesday planned here at The Everyday Republican, as we are going to track both the town-by-town returns from across the state as well as reporting the nationwide results as they come in.  Be sure to check in here for our coverage of “Super Tuesday”.

Growing Our Ranks

January 29, 2008 By: Heath Category: TER Info No Comments →

getitfirstsmall.gifThe goal at The Everyday Republican has always been to be much more than the stereotypical “official blog”. We’ve worked hard to post news and insightful commentary that makes a substantive contribution to the blogosphere in Connecticut. And we’ve worked to reshape the Connecticut blogosphere to give it more balance and make The Everyday Republican a hub for Nutmeg State moderates and conservatives who are tired of the arrogance and shamelessness of the Democratic supermajority in the General Assembly, and the misguided policies that they pursue.

Today we are announcing that we are adding two front page writers to The Everyday Republican, both of whom are well known in the blogosphere: Headless Horseman and Ichabod Crane. Both writers will bring a fresh look at the news and notes of the day, as well as add new content to the site. Look for their additions to the site in the coming days as The Everyday Republican continues to grow and thrive.

Straw Polls & Dennis Kucinich

Dennis Kucinich Goes Home

With word coming yesterday that everyone’s favorite Democrat candidate, Dennis Kucinich, is dropping out of the race for the Democratic Presidential nomination, Americans everywhere are in mourning.  Mr. Kucinich’s antics, such as the zany story about seeing a UFO with Shirley MacLaine or parading about Manchester, New Hampshire with Viggo Mortensen - have raised eyebrows and drawn chuckles throughout the Presidential campaign season.  However, the postscript on Rep. Kucinich’s candidacy is clearly one of honesty: he campaigned on what he believes, and does not simply repeat poll-tested, whatever it takes to get elected platitudes.  Perhaps Mr. Kucinich should have been allowed to keep participating in the debates so that Senator Clinton could have learned a thing or two.
